The first weekend in June our client broker held our National Conference in Houston, TX, with a weekend of development, coaching, recognition of top performers and plenty of networking. We took the opportunity to schedule an extra day of travel, flying down early to rent a classic western ranch about an hour outside of the city for extra time hanging out, coaching our team of leaders and building relationships.
One of our core values at Charlotte Marketing Consultants is that “people don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care”, and we feel it is incredibly hard to care about people that you don’t know well outside of the workplace.
Traveling, eating BBQ, having some drinks by the pool and making memories allowed us to soak in the experience of growing a business and building friendships along the way.
On the night basketball legend Kobe Bryant retired, he gave a message to his daughters about doing the work to get to your dreams. He spoke that “the journey is the dream, not the destination,” and that accomplishing your dreams and goals is about recognizing the process along the way. As a lifelong Boston Celtics fan, I hate to admit that Bryant got it right, but we certainly agree with the LA Lakers star on this one.
The only question is; will you be joining us on the journey?!
